Entertaining, despite the terrible sound

The straightforward staging was used to good effect by Dice and the band during the great show, playing for an impressive time covering lots of what we wanted to hear. Having listened to Dice on the radio and CD for decades, the overall impression was much more rock and less pop than I expected.

But that's all good...

The sound was driven to distortion, with most of the vocals being unintelligible. Dice's piano, no doubt a fine concert grand, clanged like a toy played with hammers. Both vocals and piano were better in the few songs which started with Dice by himself, but the sound was still not anything like clear. This is an issue to some extent with all concerts in hockey arenas, but this was certainly worse than usual.

Noticeably worse than The Who, Queen + Adam Lambert, the Eagles, Rod Stewart, and Garth Brooks. I think the people running the sound owe me a couple hundred dollars. Maybe they should turn off their fancy screens, take off their headphones, and actually listen to what they are producing.
